Should I Get the Nighttime Whitening Treatment or the Daytime Whitening Treatment

If you choose to do an at-home teeth whitening treatment, you can either pick from a daytime or nighttime treatment option. These teeth whitening kits are a user-friendly home whitening treatment.

The daytime whitening treatment should be applied twice daily for 30 minutes. You will apply the gel to the custom-made trays and put the trays over your teeth.

We also offer a nighttime whitening treatment. The nighttime whitening treatment is applied after you have brushed your teeth at night. You will apply the gel to the custom-made tray and apply it to your teeth for 5 minutes. You will continue this process for 2 weeks. This is a great option for those who can have time for this extra oral care step at night.

What Strength Is Right for Me?

Whitening treatments are available in different concentrations depending on the patient’s whitening needs. The strength of the active ingredients and the amount of exposure contribute most to the final results. Consult with our dentist about which teeth whitening strength will be best for your whitening needs!

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

Yes, teeth whitening is generally safe when performed under the supervision of a dental professional. At Sugarloaf Signature Dentistry, we use professional-strength whitening agents that are safe and effective.

If a patient has cavities or gum disease, it might be recommended by our dentist that you treat those conditions first before moving forward with teeth whitening.

A potential side effect of teeth whitening is gum inflammation from the whitening gel that comes in contact with your gums. During your whitening treatment in the office, we will take precautionary steps to protect your gums to minimize the risk of irritation.
